FAQ

1. Where can I buy your books?

All of the Losing It series books are currently available in print and ebook in the US and UK. Those publishers also distribute to other countries like the Canada, Australia, UK, Philippines, etc.

Translated versions of my books are currently available in the following countries:
Hungary (Losing It and Faking It are available, Keeping Her coming soon)
Greece (Losing It is available)

Translated versions coming soon:
Spain (and other spanish speaking countries)
Korea
Turkey
France
Italy
Germany
Brazil

Unfortunately... translating and publishing a work in a new country can take a significant amount of time. I don't always have release dates for foreign translations, but when I find out about them, I'll post! I know this is frustrating for foreign readers, but all I can say is that I hope you'll buy the books when they release and support your local publishers. The more books you buy from publishers in your home countries, the more books they will be able to translate (and the faster they'll be able to release them too).

2. What is "New Adult?"

New Adult is a difficult thing to pin down because it's a new category in the midst of evolving. It's a type of book that fits between Young Adult and Adult fiction. It deals with characters in the 18-25ish range who are at college, working their first jobs, figuring out their lives. I've discussed what it means to me more in-depth here. But like I said... it's a new category that's still forming, so there's definitely room for variation and risks.

3. Will there be a sequel to LOSING IT?

There is! Sort of. I wrote a short sequel novella called KEEPING HER, which is available as an ebook everywhere and as a mass market paperback for a limited time. It picks up after Losing It, and is from both Bliss and Garrick's POV.

There are also more books in the series, though each one follows a different main character. The first, FAKING IT, follows Cade (a secondary character from LOSING IT). The second companion novel follows Kelsey, and is called FINDING IT. Bliss and Garrick get some mentions in those books, too. :) There's also the novella, SEEKING HER, which pairs with FINDING IT.

4. Can you (Cora) read my writing?

Sorry, but for legal reasons, not to mention time constraint reasons, I can’t. I would encourage you to find a critique partner or group to share your work with. There are also a multitude of places online where you can share your work. I highly recommend Absolute Write as a good place to start.

Blurb requests for published authors must go through my agent, Suzie Townsend of New Leaf Literary.  suzie (at) newleafliterary (dot) com.

5. Are your books available in other countries besides the ones you mentioned?

Not at the moment, but they might be in the future! If you want the book in your country, the best thing you can do is let your favorite publishers know. Additionally, some of the countries listed above have only bought the rights to LOSING IT, and not the other companion books in the series. If you want to make sure your country continues to have my books, the best thing you can do is purchase a copy when it releases and spread the word to your friends. They'll only buy the later books if the first book is successful.

6. What else are you writing?

Ahhh! So much! Even though the Losing It series is coming to a close, I've still got a lot in store for you. First, there's my new series through Harper Collins, beginning with All Lined Up. Pitched as an NA version of Friday Night Lights, this series revolves around a fictional Texas University and a few swoon-worthy football boys. You can read more about it here.  I've also got a few more Works-in-Progress that should be making their appearances sometime in 2014. Get excited!

7. Where can I meet you?

Oh, man. I am ALL over the place. And new events get added all the time. The best thing you can do is 1. Check out my events page. 2. Follow me on social media. 3. Sign up for my AuthorTracker alerts through Harper Collins.

8. What is the reading order for the series?

The books can all stand-alone, but if you want to read them in publishing order it is: Losing It, Faking It, Keeping Her (Losing It novella), Finding It, Seeking Her (Finding It Novella).

  1. st want to say I am really enjoying your book. And congratulations on its success. I really understood your post about being terrified the moment before your uploaded it to the internet. I wondered if I was the only one in the world who had ever felt that terror. And I'm glad to see I'm not. Again, love the book!

  2. I just read Losing It, and I love it. I couldn't put it down. I love the characters and the story plot. I would love to see a book about either of Cade or her other best friend. My favorite part was the end where you finally get to see the way Garrick thinks and feels. I really liked him during the book but the ending had me falling in love with him. Thank you for all the hard work you put into this book. I can't wait to read more from you.

  3. I just finished reading Losing It. I added you to my Pinterest board of Books Worth Reading, along with my review...Cora Carmack Books - makes me feel young again, back when everything new was a mystery, eager for the experience but scared of the thereafter. Awesome read. Thank you. I'm 56 years old, and you expressed the feelings of the first time (falling in love, scared of commitment and sex) so perfectly. Thanks for making me feel young again. I'd forgotten how good that feels.

  7. Hi Cora. I just wanted you to know that I thought "Finding It" was the BEST book of the series. I felt the pain and love of both Kelsey and Jackson. Keep up the great work.

  17. As someone who rarely reads books for fun (seriously only like 5 since high school which was 8 years ago) I just wanted to say how much I love "Losing It". I first came across the book in June but didn't pick it up. However the back of the book stayed with me. Finally this past Sunday I picked up the book and OMG I'm hooked! It's only Thursday and I have read the book cover to cover twice and then some, on top of "Keeping Her". It's safe to say I'm a little addicted. Thank you Cora for writing a book that makes me laugh out loud and reminded me of how awkward and complex falling in love with someone one shouldn't felt like. Can't wait to start reading the rest of the series!

  18. So, I loved Losing it, but I just read Faking it. Please, please tell me there is more of Cade and Max's story coming!! I want to know how/where max's music career goes, how her and Cade's relationship continues to grow. Do they end up getting married, having kids... How does Cades acting career go... Does he become a teacher...what does his grandmother think of Max? Did he take Max to meet his friends for New Year's?? As you can see, there is still so much I want to know!! Haha!!

Thank you for writing, I thoroughly enjoy your work and look forward to continuing to read your work.
